Eyes on US Inflation Data in Global Markets: When Will US Inflation Data Be Released?

2 Mins Read

The focus in global markets has shifted to the day when US inflation data will be released. While positive trends prevail in global markets with expectations that the US economy can achieve a “soft landing,” inflation data to be announced in the country is of interest. So, when will the US inflation data be announced, and at what time? In global markets, a mixed trend is observed with tension in the Middle East and economic activity signals in the US leading to uncertainty, with attention turning to the inflation figures to come from the US. US inflation data, closely monitored by dollar, gold, stock, and cryptocurrency investors, will be announced in hours. The date has been set for the September US Consumer Price Index (CPI) data. Accordingly, US inflation data will be disclosed on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 3:30 PM. As the battle against inflation is drawing to a close worldwide, concerns persist about whether the prolonged period of high interest rates will result in a recession. Analysts noted that the optimistic signals taken from the employment report last week have fueled risk appetite, stating that today’s inflation data release could increase market volatility. In the minutes, it was reported that some officials pointed out during the meeting that while economic growth remains strong and unemployment continues to stay low, inflation is still somewhat high, and they were in favor of a 25 basis point reduction in the policy rate. The Fed’s minutes also stated, “Almost all officials noted that upward risks to the inflation outlook had diminished, while downward risks to employment had increased.”
