EPDK’s decision to grant special deferment to earthquake-affected regions

The Energy Market Regulatory Authority has decided to defer advance payments of some distribution license holders operating in cities affected by the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş. The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), due to the ongoing effects of the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, has taken a decision to grant exceptional deferment regarding advance payments of certain distribution license holders operating in cities where a state of emergency has been declared or declared as a disaster area, and during this period, decided not to apply default interest to the market operator and participants. The Board decision of EPDK regarding the matter was published in the Official Gazette. According to this, until December 31, legal entities holding distribution licenses operating in cities where a state of emergency has been declared or declared as a disaster area, authorized supply companies, supply companies in which Organized Industrial Zones (OSBs) are directly or indirectly partners, the amounts stated in the advance payment notifications specified in the first paragraph of Article 132/C of the Electricity Market Balancing and Settlement Regulation shall be deferred until the final payment date of the relevant invoice period and no default interest shall be applied to the market operator and market participants during this period. This Board decision will come into effect on April 1.
