Egyptian President Sisi: Loss of 6 Billion Dollars

President of Egypt, Abdulfettah el-Sisi, stated that due to the tensions in the region, his country suffered a loss of around 6 billion dollars in revenue from the Suez Canal.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony at the Police Academy in the capital Cairo, Sisi expressed that the Egyptian people are concerned because the tensions and conflicts in the region have the potential to affect the stability of the entire region.

“WE LOST MORE THAN 6 BILLION DOLLARS” Emphasizing the negative impacts of the tensions in the region on the country’s economy, Sisi said, “There has been a 50-60% decrease in revenue from the Suez Canal. In the past 7-8 months, we lost more than 6 billion dollars due to the tensions in the region.” Sisi also mentioned that despite this, Egypt has maintained its stability and is progressing towards betterment.
