In the United States, the current account deficit narrowed by 2% to $303.9 billion in the fourth quarter of last year. The US Department of Commerce released the data on the current account balance for the October-December 2024 period. Accordingly, the country’s current account deficit decreased by 2% in the fourth quarter of last year compared to the previous quarter, reaching $303.9 billion. Market expectations for the current account deficit in this period were around $330 billion. The US current account deficit was recorded at $310.3 billion in the third quarter of last year. The ratio of the country’s current account deficit to GDP was calculated at 4.1% in the last quarter of last year. This ratio was at 4.2% in the third quarter of last year.
