The number of fatalities from two earthquakes measuring 7.7 and 6.4 in magnitude in Myanmar has increased to 3,471. According to Xinhua’s report in The Mirror newspaper in Myanmar, the death toll from the earthquakes on March 28 has risen. As the death toll in the earthquakes reached 3,471, 4,671 people were injured. Search and rescue teams continue their efforts for over 200 people reported missing. EARTHQUAKES IN MYANMAR The earthquakes measuring 7.7 and 6.4 in magnitude occurred near the Sagaing region in central Myanmar on March 28. The earthquakes, also strongly felt in neighboring countries Thailand and China, caused extensive damage in the country.
