Countdown in the U.S. elections: Who is ahead according to the polls?

2 Mins Read

With three weeks left until the election in the United States, both Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump continue their rallies in critical states that will determine the outcome of the election. Polls indicate a neck-and-neck battle between the two candidates. Kamala Harris, the Democratic Vice President, or Donald Trump, the former Republican President? The question of who will be the new president of the United States will be answered on November 5th. Polls point to a close contest between Harris and Trump, with Harris slightly ahead in public opinion polls. However, her performance seems to have declined. With 23 days left until the election, both Harris and Trump held rallies in critical states. 59-year-old Kamala Harris was in North Carolina, hit by Hurricane Helene two weeks ago, where she criticized Trump without naming him. Harris said, “It is disinformation to lie about those who work hard for those in need.” President Joe Biden also went to Florida, hit by Hurricane Milton, announcing $600 million in aid to affected areas. Following former President Barack Obama in the Harris camp, the Democratic Party heavyweight former President Bill Clinton also appeared before voters. Clinton held a rally in the critical state of Georgia. Trump, on the other hand, was in the border state of Arizona, focusing his one-and-a-half-hour speech on immigration. He promised Arizona voters to employ 10,000 border officers to prevent illegal crossings from Mexico. The day before, Trump was in California, a stronghold of the Democrats. Police announced the arrest of a person near the security checkpoint before the rally. 49-year-old Vem Miller was found to have multiple firearms, a passport, and counterfeit plates in his possession and vehicle. The suspect, who was arrested for carrying weapons, was released on $5,000 bail. It was reported that Trump, who has been the target of two assassination attempts since July, was not in danger when the suspect was apprehended. It was stated that the Republican candidate was not on the podium at the time of the arrest.
