Construction costs increased by 26.61% annually in January. As a result, construction cost inflation reached its lowest level in four years. The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) released data on the construction cost index for January. According to the data, the index rose by 9.1% compared to the previous month and by 26.61% compared to the same month last year. Therefore, construction costs hit the lowest level in four years on an annual basis. Costs also recorded the fastest monthly increase in a year. The material index increased by 1.96% monthly, while the labor index rose by 23.58%. On an annual basis, the material index increased by 22.39% and the labor index by 34.37%. The building construction cost index showed a 9.39% increase compared to the previous month in January and a 27.09% increase from the same month last year. The material index increased by 1.91% compared to the previous month, while the labor index rose by 24.14%. Additionally, compared to the same month last year, the material index increased by 23.28% and the labor index by 33.76%. The construction cost index for non-building structures showed an 8.13% increase compared to the previous month in January and a 25.05% increase from the same month last year. In these structures, the material index increased by 2.14% from the previous month, while the labor index rose by 21.58%. Moreover, compared to the same month last year, the material index increased by 19.67% and the labor index by 36.65%.
