Condemnation of Attacks on Security Forces in Syria from Six Countries

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, and Jordan have condemned the attacks on security forces in Syria that resulted in the deaths of more than 70 individuals.

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a written statement regarding the events in Syria.

The statement expressed condemnation for the crimes committed by illegal groups in Syria and their targeting of security forces. It was noted that Saudi Arabia supports the efforts of the Syrian government to maintain security, stability, and internal peace. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE also condemned the attacks by armed groups in Syria targeting security forces, reiterating support for Syria’s stability and sovereignty over its entire territories. The statement highlighted the UAE’s support for all efforts aimed at the security, peace, stability, and humane living conditions of the Syrian people. The statement from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs similarly strongly condemned and rejected the crimes committed by illegal groups in Syria and their targeting of security forces and state institutions. It was mentioned that Kuwait supports all efforts and measures taken by the Syrian state and government to protect national security and stability. The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated its strong condemnation and rejection of the crimes committed by illegal groups in Syria, their targeting of security forces, and attempts to disrupt security and internal peace. The Ministry reiterated its solidarity with the Syrian government in ensuring the security, stability, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the country, as well as meeting the expectations of the Syrian people for peaceful coexistence, development, and sustainable prosperity. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern about the conflicts in Syria’s Latakia province, which resulted in numerous casualties and injuries. The statement emphasized Egypt’s support for the Syrian state, institutions, and stability in the face of security threats and rejected any actions that would jeopardize the security, safety, and stability of the Syrian people. It highlighted the importance of combating all forms of violence, prioritizing Syria’s national interests, and working towards overcoming the delicate transitional period in the country. The Ministry also stressed the need for a comprehensive political transition process in Syria that ensures the inclusive participation of all sectors of society and safeguards the rights of all denominations in the country. The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored its support for Syria’s security, stability, unity, and sovereignty. The ministry’s statement condemned attempts to undermine the country’s security and peace, fuel strife and chaos, and target Syria’s security, peace, and security institutions. It further condemned all groups, attempts, and external interventions aiming to push Syria into chaos, conflict, and turmoil. The statement highlighted the support for the measures taken by the Syrian government to protect the country’s security, stability, people’s safety, law, and internal peace. WHAT IS HAPPENING IN SYRIA? Following the attack on security forces in Latakia, searches and sweeps targeting forces loyal to the toppled Assad regime are being expanded. The Syrian army is deploying artillery and tanks to hotspots in Jableh, Latakia, where clashes with pro-Assad forces continue. At least 11 security officers lost their lives in an attack by Assad loyalists in Jableh, Latakia yesterday. Thousands of people gathered in squares in Damascus, Idlib, Homs, Hama, Latakia, Daraa, Quneitra, and Aleppo to protest the attacks on security forces.
