According to a report on the Arabic page of American CNN channel citing sources from the White House, President Donald Trump may visit Turkey next month, but the final decision has not been made. The channel based its report on a White House official and two other familiar sources to the matter, stating, “After his visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates next month, Trump is considering adding Turkey to his Middle East trip.” One of the officials speaking to CNN claimed that the mentioned visit was discussed in one of the recent phone calls between Trump and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The report also mentioned that Trump is not currently considering including Israel in his Middle East tour schedule. HAKAN FİDAN: IT COULD BE IN TURKEY, IT COULD BE IN THE USA Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also responded to a question about President Erdogan’s possible visit to the USA during a CNN Turk broadcast last night, saying, “Preparations are underway, it’s now a matter of leaders expressing their will. We are currently discussing when and where this will happen.” Fidan also answered the question, “Could it be in Turkey, could it be in the USA? Can Trump come, can Erdogan go?” with “Both could happen.”
