Reports claim that American billionaire Elon Musk will depart from his role in the Trump administration. According to US media, Trump informed the Cabinet that Musk would be stepping down.
It has been alleged that Elon Musk, who headed the Department of Government Productivity (DOGE) in the Trump administration, will be leaving his position. Unnamed sources cited in US media reports claim that Trump informed Cabinet members and close associates of Musk’s impending departure, having reached a mutual agreement with him.
Musk was leading efforts to reduce federal spending and restructure various government agencies. Allegations suggest that Musk decided to focus on his busy business schedule, particularly in accelerating private sector integration in defense and space projects. The White House has not issued any statement regarding these claims.
“He Has a Large Company to Manage”
Responding to a question about Musk’s term in office and the fate of DOGE, Trump had stated, “I think he’s a great guy, but he’s got a big company to run, so at some point, he’ll go back to doing that.” Nevertheless, Trump emphasized his intention to keep Musk in his role for as long as possible. Regarding whether DOGE would continue its activities, Trump had mentioned, “I can’t tell you that. What I can tell you is that most of the people who work with DOGE are secretaries, like heads of various agencies, and they’ve learned a lot. I think it’ll come to an end at some point, but they’ve gotten a great education and are doing a really good job.”
