Allegations have been made that there is a limit on using meal cards at markets. Ministry of Treasury and Finance sources have denied these claims. Reports in the media asserted that a daily spending limit of 158 Turkish Lira will be imposed on meal cards at markets, with a total ceiling of 3,476 Turkish Lira. Ministry sources announced that there has never been a 158 lira amount specified in tax legislation. It was stated that previous regulations on the matter were not related to the use of cards by employees but instead technical issues related to employer tax payments. It was also indicated that there are no monthly or daily limits on purchases.
