Citizens’ Inflation Expectation Declined

In October, citizens’ and the real sector’s inflation expectations decreased. Household inflation expectations dropped by 4.4 points to 67.2% in October. The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) published sectoral inflation expectations for October. Citizens’ inflation expectation fell by 4.4 points to 67.2% in October. The real sector’s inflation expectation decreased by 1.6 points to 49.5%. Market participants’ expectation declined to 27.4% with a 0.1 point decrease. The percentage of households expecting inflation to decrease in the next 12 months decreased by 0.7 points to 28.3% compared to the previous month. The Sectoral Inflation Expectations were obtained by compiling Consumer Confidence Survey conducted in collaboration with the Economic Outlook Survey, Turkey Statistical Institute (TurkStat), and the opinions of experts in finance and the real sector, manufacturing industry firms, and households on the annual consumer inflation expectations for the next 12 months.
