The Long March-2F carrier rocket, which aims to deliver 3 Chinese astronauts to the Tiangong Space Station as part of the Shenzhou-19 mission, was successfully launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert at 23:27 Turkey time. The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) announced that Chinese astronauts Cai Xuzhe, Song Lingdong, and Wang Haoze would replace the astronauts who have been at the Tiangong Space Station for the past six months. The team is said to conduct a series of scientific experiments during the Shenzhou-19 mission, which will last until April or May, including practice tests, extravehicular activities, placing protective devices against space debris, and conducting useful payload tests and placements. Mission commander Cai Xuzhe is reported to be an experienced astronaut who went to space on the Shenzhou-14 mission in 2022, while Song is revealed to be a former air force pilot. Wang, who was previously a senior engineer at the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, is also noted to be China’s only female spaceflight engineer at present and the third Chinese woman to go on a manned spaceflight mission.
