Central Bank Reserves Declined

Central Bank reserves decreased by 4 billion 578 million dollars to 165.4 billion dollars in the week ending on February 28th. The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) released its weekly money and banking statistics. As of February 28th, the Central Bank’s gross foreign exchange reserves decreased by 2 billion 941 million dollars to 94 billion 757 million dollars. Gross foreign exchange reserves were at 97 billion 698 million dollars on February 21st. During this period, gold reserves also decreased by 1 billion 638 million dollars to 70 billion 659 million dollars from 72 billion 297 million dollars. As a result, the total reserves of the Central Bank decreased by 4 billion 578 million dollars from 169 billion 995 million dollars to 165 billion 417 million dollars in the week ending on February 28th compared to the previous week.
