This year, Ramadan Bayram starts on Sunday, March 30 and will last for 3 days, ending on Tuesday, April 1. Money transfers conducted within the same bank are referred to as wire transfers, while transfers between different banks are called EFT. On religious and national holidays when banks are closed, those looking to make payments or money transfers are researching the details. So, can wire transfers, EFT, and FAST be made during the holiday, and when will the money be deposited into the account? Here are the details regarding money transfers… People looking to make money transfers during the holiday are wondering whether EFT, FAST, and wire transfer transactions will go through. On national holidays such as January 1, April 23, May 1, May 19, July 15, August 30, and October 29, as well as during religious holidays like Ramadan Bayram and Kurban Bayram, EFT transactions will not be processed. Money transfers are carried out after the official holidays end. While bank branches are closed during the holiday, they will resume activities on April 2. So, can wire transfers, EFT, and FAST be made during the holiday, and when will the money be deposited into the account? Here’s the answer to the burning question… Since EFT involves money transfers between different banks, EFT transactions will not be processed during official holidays. EFT transactions will be processed once the official holiday ends and normal working hours resume. After Ramadan Bayram ends, EFT transactions will be deposited into accounts on Wednesday, April 2, after 09:00. Wire transfers, on the other hand, can be conducted within the same bank 24/7. They can be made on national and religious holidays. FAST allows money transfers between different banks to be conducted 24/7 even during official and religious holidays. Those looking to transfer money during Ramadan Bayram can use FAST for instant money transfers. On official holidays, Borsa Istanbul operates independently from banks, so trading activities will not occur in the stock market. The stock market will resume operations on Wednesday, April 2.
