2 Mins Read

The vehicle ship of BYD, which was seen passing through the Dardanelles Strait and Osmangazi Bridge, has reached Safiport Port in the Derince district of Kocaeli. The ship carries 7 thousand vehicles. Departing from Ningbo Port in China on February 25th to make deliveries, BYD CHANGZHOU arrived at Safiport Port in Derince, Kocaeli yesterday after a journey of approximately 39 days. The ship, with a capacity of 7 thousand vehicles, is 199.9 meters long and 38 meters wide. Thanks to its 69,250 gross tonnage and 21,400 net tonnage capacity, large-scale shipments are efficiently carried out. The ship operates with a dual-fuel propulsion system, reducing carbon emissions by using liquefied natural gas. This environmentally friendly technology supports the company’s global sustainability goals. While continuing to offer innovations in Turkey, BYD strengthens its presence in the market with new vehicle shipments. The interest Turkish consumers show in the company’s models enhances the brand’s position in the market, and according to the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD) data, BYD was the fastest-growing brand in the Turkish Passenger Car Market in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year. Introducing its innovative models to the Turkish market, the company launched the TANG model in March. Thus, with models such as DOLPHIN, ATTO 3, SEAL U DM-i, SEAL U EV, HAN, SEAL AWD, and TANG, the company’s model lineup in Turkey has expanded to 7. The company became the first automobile brand to stop producing fossil fuel vehicles in 2022. BYD, the first brand to reach 10 million electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle production worldwide, achieved this success through rapid growth. While it took 15 years to produce the first 5 million new energy vehicles, the company completed the production of the next 5 million vehicles in just 15 months, showcasing its global manufacturing power. While becoming the world leader in sales of rechargeable hybrid and electric vehicles in 2023, the company sold over 4 million new energy vehicles last year. The brand’s success once again demonstrates its commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
