The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change has imposed a fine of 2 million 6 thousand 31 liras on Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Water and Sewerage Administration (BUSKİ) for violations in wastewater facilities. According to a statement from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, an inspection was carried out at the Mudanya Wastewater Treatment Plant operated by BUSKİ. The analysis of wastewater samples during the inspection revealed that the levels exceeded the limit values specified in environmental legislation. As the same violation occurred in 2022, the penalty was doubled, resulting in an administrative fine of 1 million 337 thousand 354 liras imposed on BUSKİ General Directorate. In the inspection of the Orhangazi Wastewater Treatment Plant owned by BUSKİ, it was found that the wastewater exceeded the limit values. Therefore, an additional administrative fine of 668 thousand 677 liras was imposed on BUSKİ in accordance with the Environmental Law.
