Bus tragedy in Mexico: 18 people dead, 29 injured

State Governor Salomon Jara, in a statement to the press, reported that a passenger bus departing from the capital, Mexico City, overturned on the Mitla-Tehuantepec highway. Jara noted that 18 people lost their lives in the accident, with 29 others injured, 2 of them critically. He mentioned that the injured were taken to the hospital. Jara offered condolences to the families of the deceased and mentioned that the cause of the accident will be investigated. According to local media, it was revealed that the individuals who died in the accident were supporters of the ruling National Regeneration Movement (MORENA) party and had attended a rally in Mexico City last Sunday organized by President Claudia Sheinbaum.
