Following the crisis-causing Trump-Zelensky meeting at the White House, officials from Ukraine and the US came together in Saudi Arabia. A 30-day ceasefire plan emerged from the meeting. Zelensky said “We agree,” while urging to convince Russia. Trump, on the other hand, mentioned he would meet with Putin “today or tomorrow.” Here are the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine War…

The US and Ukrainian Foreign Ministries met in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia yesterday. During the meeting, Ukraine expressed readiness to immediately implement a 30-day temporary ceasefire proposal. The ceasefire, extendable by mutual agreement of the parties, will be subject to simultaneous implementation by Russia. The same statement noted that the US would immediately lift the limitation on intelligence sharing with Kiev and restart security assistance to Ukraine.

The first reactions to the ceasefire plan came from US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. Russia also made notable statements in response.
