Below-Expectation Inflation in the Eurozone

In February, the annual inflation rate in the Eurozone rose by 2.3%, which was below expectations. Consumer prices in the Eurozone increased by 2.3% compared to the previous year in February, falling short of forecasts. Economists had predicted a 2.4% increase in consumer prices in the Eurozone. According to data from Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union, inflation in February rose by 0.4% compared to the previous month. The core inflation rate in the Eurozone, calculated excluding energy and unprocessed food prices, increased in line with expectations, rising by 2.6% compared to the previous year. Core inflation increased by 0.5% from the previous month.
