A support payment of 50 lira per hive will be provided to organic beekeepers. The “Regulation on Supporting Breeders Engaged in Organic Beekeeping” prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry was published in the Official Gazette and took effect as of January 1, 2024. The regulation sets out the conditions, application method, and application and payment periods for the support payments for beekeepers engaged in organic beekeeping. Therefore, breeders who wish to benefit from the support payment must submit their applications along with the necessary documents to the provincial and district directorates where they are registered in the Organic Agriculture Information System (OTBIS) by the end of business on December 20, 2024. Breeders who are located in a province or district other than where they are registered can submit their applications to the directorates in their current province or district. Breeders engaged in organic beekeeping must have their hive inspections carried out at the provincial and district directorate to which they submitted a letter requesting hive inspection by December 31, 2024. A payment of 50 lira per hive will be made for organic beehives that qualify for the support payment. Furthermore, while the regulation dated October 24, 2023 with the same title is repealed, the activities conducted in accordance with the provisions of said regulation will be finalized based on those provisions.
