Artist Behind Trump’s “Really Worst” Portrait Faces Career Threat

2 Mins Read

The career of British artist Boardman, who painted President Trump’s “really worst” portrait, is now under threat.

The portrait crisis continues in the United States.

The British artist who painted President Donald Trump’s “worst” portrait stated that the criticisms have put his honesty into question and endangered his career.

Sarah A. Boardman drew Trump’s official portrait for the Colorado State Capitol in Denver, where it hung for six years starting in 2019.

Last month, Trump claimed on his social media account that the portrait had been intentionally tampered with.

Trump had previously praised Boardman’s portrait of former President Barack Obama as magnificent but deemed his own as the “really worst.”

Boardman expressed in his first statement after the critiques that his intentions, honesty, and skills were being doubted.

Denying Trump’s allegations, Boardman stated that he completed the portrait flawlessly and that there was no deliberate distortion, political bias, or caricaturing involved.

According to a report on CNN International, the artist acknowledged Trump’s right to comment but emphasized that the allegations of intent and criticisms of “losing talent as he ages” have negatively impacted his 41-year-old career.

Boardman added that he is facing concerns of not being able to recover from this situation.
