It has been revealed that artificial intelligence has increased the hit rate of Ukraine’s unmanned aerial vehicles to 80 percent.
In the conflict in Ukraine, artificial intelligence has been playing an increasingly important role in improving the targeting capabilities of drones, in particular.
HIT RATE REACHES 80 PERCENT
An article in TIME magazine reported that artificial intelligence has increased the hit rate of Ukrainian drones from under 50 percent in 2023 to 80 percent this year.
SAKER RECON DRONE
Much of this progress is credited to the artificial intelligence software provided by the US-based company Palantir, referred to by TIME as the “AI arms dealer of the 21st century”.
An example of the technology’s success is the SAKER reconnaissance drone embedded with Palantir’s artificial intelligence software.
It is reported that the drone can autonomously identify personnel, tanks, armored vehicles, among other targets, and relay this information to the command center to select when and with which weapons to strike.
