Armed Attack in Nigeria: 10 People Killed in 5 Villages

In Plateau state, Nigeria, 10 people lost their lives in attacks carried out by unidentified armed individuals. The death toll has risen to 20 in the past week. According to the President of the Bokkos Cultural Development Council (BCDC), Farmasum Fuddang, armed individuals whose identities are yet to be determined opened fire in 5 villages in the Bokkos region of Plateau state. Fuddang stated that 10 people lost their lives in the attack and many others were injured. Fuddang also mentioned that a total of 20 people lost their lives in attacks in the state over the past week, and numerous individuals were abducted. Joyce Ramnap, the Plateau Information and Communication Commissioner, issued a call for calm to the residents of the state in response to the attack. Ramnap informed that security forces have been deployed to the regions and investigations have been initiated into the incidents. The Plateau Police has not yet released a statement regarding the matter. The state is occasionally subjected to armed attacks, with at least 200 individuals losing their lives in attacks carried out by armed individuals in the Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi regions of Plateau state on December 25.
