A bill including an increase in the retirement holiday bonus to 4,000 TL was approved in the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s Planning and Budget Committee. Retirees will receive a total of 8,000 TL in payments during the Ramadan and Eid al-Adha holidays. As the countdown for Ramadan begins, retirees under the SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Pension Fund are discussing the dates for bonus payments. The thousand lira increase in holiday bonuses is expected to create an additional cost of 28 billion TL in the 2025 budget. The retirement holiday bonuses will be deposited into accounts where salaries are received. So, when will the retirement holiday bonuses for 2025 be paid? Millions of retirees are eagerly awaiting the newly announced bonus amount. Following the 3,000 TL bonuses deposited into accounts last year, this year they will be 4,000 TL. The bonus payments for SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Pension Fund retirees will be made on different days. The payment dates vary based on the last digit of the allocation number. The payment days will be determined after a study by the Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Services. The bonus payments will be completed before the holiday. Approximately 15.5 million retirees will benefit from the retirement holiday bonus payment of 4,000 TL included in the bill approved at the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s Planning and Budget Committee. Minister of Family, Labor, and Social Services Vedat Işıkhan made a statement. Işıkhan stated that once the bill passes in the Parliament, the bonuses will be deposited into the accounts of retirees. The bonus payments were made prior to the Eid al-Adha holiday starting on June 16 last year, between June 10-14. AK Party Group President Güler announced that the retirement holiday bonus has been raised from 3,000 TL to 4,000 TL.
Similarly, this year, the payments are expected to be deposited into accounts between March 24-28. Bonus payment days for SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Pension Fund retirees will be based on the allocation number. In addition to 16 million retirees, widows, orphans receiving benefits, and those benefiting from old age pension payments will be eligible for bonuses. Widows and orphans receiving benefits will receive bonuses at rates of 75%, 50%, and 25% based on their shares. Bonuses will also be available for those receiving benefits such as old age pension, disability benefits, permanent disability benefits following a work accident, relatives of martyrs, combat veterans, security guards, champion athletes, and civilians affected by terrorism.
