The Competition Authority has approved the transfer of the MACFit sports clubs in Turkey, which have 121 branches, to Benefit Systems.

The Competition Authority approved the transfer of Mars Club and Facility Management Inc., which includes the sports chain MACFit, to the Poland-based Benefit Systems S.A. With this decision, Benefit Systems will acquire all shares of Mars Sports.

The agreement, valued at 420 million dollars, is important for the fitness sector in Turkey. Mars Sports, which has 121 MACFit branded fitness clubs throughout Turkey, gained prominence in major cities in 2010 with investments from Esas Holding and private equity fund Actera Group.
