The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) has announced that capacity allocation applications have begun for electricity trade between Turkey and Syria. According to the announcement on the institution’s website, legal entities holding supply or production licenses that wish to export electricity to Syria using the Reyhanlı-Afrin Interconnection Line must submit their applications to the EPDK by the end of business hours on Tuesday, April 1st. Furthermore, STE Elektrik Enerjisi Tedarik Toptan Satış İthalat İhracat Limited Şirketi, a supply license holder, has applied to amend their license to increase the existing capacity from 40 megawatts to a maximum of 100 megawatts by December 15th in order to export electricity to Syria through the isolated area feeding method from Reyhanlı TM.
