Hezbollah announced Naim Kasım’s appointment as the leader of the organization in place of Hasan Nasrallah, who was killed by Israel. In response to the organization’s announcement, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated, “The appointment is temporary, countdown started.” Kasım had been serving as deputy secretary general since 1991.
