American-Israeli captive soldier: Trump seen as victim of Netanyahu’s lies

2 Mins Read

In Gaza, the American-Israeli soldier Edan Alexander, held by Hamas’ military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, noted that he sees President Donald Trump as a victim of Netanyahu’s lies. In a video released by the Qassam Brigades, Alexander stated that he has been captive in Gaza for 551 days and that he has collapsed both psychologically and physically. Expressing that Netanyahu seizes control of the state like a dictator every day, Alexander rebelled by saying, “I heard three weeks ago that Hamas was ready to release me, but you rejected it and left me here. Why am I here instead of with my family? Why am I making a second video today?” Directed at Trump in the video, the captive soldier said, “President Trump, I believed that you would successfully bring me out of here alive. Why did you become a victim of Netanyahu’s lies? I have nightmares at night. I hear my mother’s, father’s, and brother’s voices every day. Why? Why am I not in the U.S., why am I not with my family?” Alexander mentioned in the video that he came to Israel to serve in the Golani Brigade and was alone at his duty station on October 7. Urging Israelis to continue the demonstrations, Alexander, feeling the bombardment getting closer every day, said, “Our time is truly running out. I feel the bombing getting closer every day. This is really a very difficult situation. We are losing hope. We think we will return home dead.” He called on Israelis to “continue the demonstrations and do everything to get us out of here.”
