Allegation of UNRWA employee killed next to Sinwar denied by UNRWA Commissioner Lazzarini

1 Mins Read

The Commissioner General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, refuted claims published by Israeli sources that a UNRWA employee was “killed” next to Hamas Political Bureau Chief Yahya Sinwar. Lazzarini made a statement on the issue via the social media platform X. Emphasizing that unverified information is being used to discredit UNRWA and its employees, Lazzarini mentioned today’s reports circulating on social media and Israeli press claiming that a UNRWA employee was “killed” in Gaza alongside the Hamas leader. “I confirm that the UNRWA staff member is alive, currently residing in Egypt,” Lazzarini stated. The Commissioner General also said, “It’s time to put an end to disinformation campaigns.”
