The UK coastguard received a report of a collision between a tanker and a cargo ship.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency announced that a ship had sunk off the northeast coast of England. The statement noted, “Rescue boats from Skegness, Bridlington, Maplethorpe, and Cleethorpes, an HM Coastguard fixed-wing aircraft, nearby ships with firefighting capabilities, as well as a Coastguard Rescue Helicopter from Humberside were dispatched. The incident is still ongoing.” The alarm regarding the incident was raised at 09:48 in the morning. The BBC reported that the oil tanker involved in the collision caught fire.
