Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that the goal for the coming year is to decrease inflation below 20%, with a target of single-digit inflation by 2026. He emphasized at the Ümraniye Business World Meeting in Istanbul that the success of the economic program is dependent on political and societal ownership, stating that success follows when these elements are present. Yılmaz highlighted uncertainty as the most unfavorable situation in the economy, noting that political uncertainties from general and local elections, as well as policy uncertainties from the Medium-Term Program, have been resolved.

Yılmaz underscored the transition to a period of disinflation starting in June, mentioning a 26% decrease in inflation since May and seeing levels below 50% after a long period. He mentioned that the inflation forecast in the Medium-Term Program for the end of the year is 41.5%, and added, “Our aim is to reduce inflation below 20% next year. By 2026, we aim to once again bring our country to single-digit figures.”
