Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto announced that Hungary will sign a gas agreement with Russian Gazprom today. Szijjarto stated that the agreement will ensure full utilization of the TurkStream gas pipeline.
The Minister expressed that the termination of the gas transit agreement between Ukraine and Russia will not be a problem for Hungary, as they can receive gas through TurkStream. Szijjarto, speaking at an energy conference in Russia, mentioned that TurkStream could also assist other European countries in gas supply. The current transit agreement that allows Russian gas to flow to Central European countries via Ukraine will expire at the end of the year.
