After Putin’s Visit to Kursk, Game-Changing Move: Russia Recaptures Suceava

2 Mins Read

Officials from Moscow have announced the recapture of Suceava, the largest city controlled by the Ukrainian army in the hot front Kursk region.

Russian forces have regained control of Suceava, a key town in western Russia’s Kursk.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated today that the region had been taken back from Ukrainian troops. The Ministry noted that Moscow troops also retook two other villages named Melovoi and Podol.

Andriy Kovalenko, Head of the Disinformation Combat Center of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, stated that the Russian army had “almost completely destroyed” the town of Suceava in the Kursk region. Kovalenko said, “The city and its surroundings have been devastated, with only a few civilian buildings left standing.”

PUTIN GAVE ORDERS

The recapture of Suceava, which hosts an unused measurement station for the natural gas sent from Russia to Europe, is a significant gain for Russia, which has been struggling to push Ukrainian forces out of Kursk since last August. President Vladimir Putin, dressed in military attire, visited Russian troops in Kursk yesterday and ordered them to advance at lightning speed, rapidly retaking the remaining areas held by Ukraine.

KREMLIN: FINAL STAGE ENTERED

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov also announced today that President Vladimir Putin had received information during his visit to Kursk that the ongoing operation to cleanse the region of Ukrainian soldiers had entered its final stage.

Peskov stated, “During his visit to one of the command centers in the Kursk region, Putin listened to reports from the Commander and Deputy Commander of the Sever Group. The commanders briefed the Supreme Commander on the progress of the operation to cleanse Kursk region from militants and informed him that the operation had entered its final stage.”
