Additional Train Services to be Provided for Eid Holiday

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that additional train services will be organized for the Eid holiday.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that in order to meet passenger demand during the Eid holiday, extra train services will increase the capacity by 12,786 passengers. In a written statement, Minister Uraloğlu mentioned that additional High-Speed Train (YHT) services will be arranged on the Ankara-Istanbul-Ankara route during the Eid holiday. He added that 6 more services will be added to the trains, “To accommodate the increased travel demand during the holiday, we will organize extra YHT services between Ankara and Istanbul on March 28-29 and April 1. The trains will depart from Ankara at 09:40 and from Istanbul-Sogutlucesme at 18:00. This will provide a total of 2,466 additional seat capacity for 3 days.” Minister Uraloğlu also indicated an increase in capacity on mainline and regional trains by adding coaches between March 27 and April 1. He mentioned that a total of 172 coaches will be added to trains such as the Izmir Blue Express, Eastern Express, Southern/Van Lake Express, Konya Blue Express, Aegean Express, Erciyes Express, September 6 Express, September 17 Express, Pamukkale Express, Ankara Express, Uzunkopru-Halkalı Regional Train, and Edirne-Halkalı Regional Train, increasing the seating capacity by 10,320. Minister Uraloğlu concluded, “With the additional YHT services and the added coaches to mainline and regional trains, we will provide an additional capacity of 12,786 passengers.”
