Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bayramov announced that an agreement was reached in the peace treaty with Armenia by accepting Azerbaijan’s proposals for the remaining two items in the text. Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov of Azerbaijan reported that negotiations on the peace treaty to be signed with Armenia have been completed. Minister Bayramov made statements to journalists during the 12th Global Baku Forum. Referencing the peace process with Armenia, Bayramov stated, “Negotiations on the peace treaty text have been completed. There were 2 items where consensus was not reached. Armenia accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals on these 2 items as well. Work on the text is finished.” Bayramov mentioned that their next expectation is the removal of provisions in Armenia’s constitution and other legislation against Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. Emphasizing that amending Armenia’s constitution is one of the necessary conditions for peace, Bayramov also stated that the OSCE Minsk Group should be disbanded.
