Leaders of EU countries gathered in Brussels to discuss new defense plans and the issue of Ukraine.

The heads of state and government of the 27 EU member countries met in Brussels under the leadership of EU Council President Antonio Costa. The leaders convened in the capital of Belgium for their regular summit to address topics such as enhancing competitiveness, new plans for the security and defense of the continent, and continuing support for Ukraine.

Following their assessment with European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, the leaders will engage in an online meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

It was reported that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will also participate in some sessions.
