A system developed to make car sales more secure has become mandatory for everyone. Risks such as carrying cash while buying a second-hand vehicle, using counterfeit money, and non-payment of the sale price will be eliminated with the system. The aim is to prevent fraud in sales through the application.

From now on, the Safe Payment System has become mandatory for buyers as well, aimed at eliminating payment disputes between buyers and sellers in the second-hand car market.

The system has been mandatory for businesses (car dealerships) engaged in the trade of second-hand motor vehicles until today, and from now on, it has become mandatory for everyone. In the application, the seller will initiate the safe payment process first, then the buyer will deposit the money to the intermediary organization with a reference number before going to the notary. After the sale is approved, the money waiting in the secure account will be transferred to the seller’s account instantly.
The system aims to eliminate risks such as carrying cash, using counterfeit money, and non-payment of the sale price. The system is expected to create a trust environment in the second-hand car market. By preventing consumer grievances, the implementation will eliminate disputes between buyers and sellers regarding payments.
The operation and supervision of the system will be carried out by the Ministry of Commerce.
The bank that signed a protocol with the Union of Turkish Notaries, electronic money or payment institutions will all be included in the system. A fee of 105 lira will be deducted from the vehicle sale price transferred to the seller for each transaction, of which 52.5 lira will be transferred to the Union of Turkish Notaries as a transaction participation fee.
There are no options for installment payments or credit card payments in the system. In case of withdrawal from the sale transaction, the application made through the system can be cancelled, and the amount deposited by the buyer will be refunded by the relevant bank, electronic money, or payment institution.
Once the application is created, no modifications can be done to the information. To do so, the existing application must be cancelled, and a new process must be initiated.
