The versatile national helicopter T625 GÖKBEY, developed by TUSAŞ, will be joining the inventory of the Gendarmerie Aviation Command today. The delivery ceremony, attended by President Erdoğan, will mark the start of GÖKBEY’s service, meeting the light general-purpose helicopter needs of the Turkish security forces. GÖKBEY will replace UH-1 helicopters made in the USA, boasting a 12-passenger capacity, a maximum speed of 306 km/h, and a flight endurance of over 5 hours. The involvement of engineer Zahide Güçlü Ekici, who lost her life in a recent terrorist attack, in the production of GÖKBEY further highlights the significance of the helicopter. Ahmet Örsoğlu from the NTV team provided details on the topic from TUSAŞ.
