Since that date, excluding cancellations, 1098 angel investor licenses have been issued. Out of these, 603 are currently active. Within the scope of the system, 158 licenses were issued in 2023, and 74 licenses in the first 9 months of 2024. It was determined that 67.94% of license applicants were high-income or wealthy individuals, while 32.06% were experienced. Since the first investment with angel investment networks in Turkey in June 2013, 233 investors have contributed 43,946,000 liras in capital to 80 investments in the startup or growth stage. Last year, 4 investors provided 5.2 million liras in capital to 17 ventures within the system, while in the first 9 months of this year, 36 angel investors transferred 11,171,000 liras in capital for 18 investments. The sectors where angel investors transferred capital were primarily computer programming and consulting, as well as information technology and computer service activities, followed by data processing and hosting, and scientific research and development activities. Individual participation investors can apply for licenses and investments through accredited networks by the Ministry. Networks must fulfill commitments determined by the Ministry to become accredited. Currently, there are 18 active accredited networks in the system, with 10 in Istanbul, 2 in Antalya, and one each in Diyarbakır, Izmir, Kayseri, Ankara, Elazığ, and Bursa.
