In the US, a family filed a lawsuit against a hospital, claiming that their premature baby’s neck was broken by a nurse while in the hospital.
In June 2022, a woman named Gianna Lopera in Florida went into premature labor at a hospital, where her baby was placed in an incubator after birth and then tragically passed away.
According to court documents, the premature baby, born at 24 weeks, died two weeks after being placed in the incubator due to a broken neck.
The family alleges that after the baby’s neck was broken by a nurse, it was placed back in the incubator to hide the incident.
“SHOULD BE JUDGED BY THE FACTS”
Seeking information on the cause of death of premature babies, the family filed a lawsuit against the hospital citing negligence. The hospital’s spokesperson stated to reporters, “We extend our deepest condolences to this family and any family that has lost a child, but we believe that those providing care in this setting should be judged by facts, not speculation. We eagerly await discussing the facts of this case properly.”
