During the call, Erdogan mentioned that Italy’s support for Turkey’s initiative at the United Nations to halt arms sales to Israel would be crucial.

Erdogan expressed that the relations between the two countries are advancing day by day and that the bilateral trade volume could be increased with determined steps in various fields, particularly in the defense industry.
Pointing out that Israel is expanding the circle of fire in the Middle East by ignoring all warnings, Erdogan emphasized the importance of the international community acting together to stop Israeli aggression.
He also noted that Italy’s support for Turkey’s initiative at the United Nations to halt arms sales to Israel would strengthen the effort.
During the conversation, President Erdogan also stated that Israel’s attacks on Palestinian territories, including Gaza and Lebanon, as well as UN missions, are unacceptable. He appreciated Italy’s reaction to Israeli aggression, emphasizing Turkey’s continued efforts for peace in the region. Additionally, he thanked Prime Minister Meloni for her support of family values in the face of LGBTI+ advocates.
