Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has approved the list of targets for the anticipated retaliatory strike in Iran since the beginning of the month. An Israeli source speaking to ABC News stated that Netanyahu has given approval for the retaliatory strike against Iran. However, it remains uncertain whether all of the approved targets are military in nature.
Earlier this month, Iran launched a wide-scale missile attack on Israeli territories. It was reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has approved the targets identified for a response to Tehran’s missile attack. Since the attack on October 1st, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has been insisting on a response to Iran that is “deadly, precise, and surprising.” Israeli officials have called for destructive attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure, including nuclear facilities.
NETANYAHU’S APPROVAL ABC News’ Israeli source mentioned that Netanyahu has given approval for a retaliatory strike against Iran, but did not provide many details about the targets. It was not specified whether all these targets are solely military. The timing of the retaliatory strike has not yet been determined.
NUCLEAR TARGET WARNING FROM U.S. Earlier this week, the American newspaper The Washington Post claimed that Netanyahu promised U.S. President Joe Biden that Israel would only strike Iranian military targets. Biden had urged the Israeli leader to refrain from attacking Tehran’s oil or nuclear infrastructure. In a statement from Netanyahu’s office on Tuesday, it was indicated that Israel would listen to the U.S., but make decisions based on its national interests.
