Zelenski Presents Victory Plan to Ukrainian Parliament

2 Mins Read

After holding discussions with Western allies during recent visits, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has officially presented the anticipated “Victory Plan” to the Ukrainian parliament. Zelenskyy stated that implementing the plan now could potentially end the war with Russia by next year. He emphasized the urgent need for action and unity among Ukraine’s allies to strengthen the country’s position in ending the conflict.

The plan consists of five elements, with Zelenskyy revealing the existence of three secret components. Immediate steps to be taken include inviting Ukraine to join NATO and enhancing the country’s military capabilities. Zelenskyy did not disclose the content of the fifth element but mentioned that it pertains to the post-war period.

Addressing developments in the Russian war, Zelenskyy highlighted North Korea’s support for Russia, confirming intelligence reports of arms and personnel being provided from North Korea to Russia for the conflict. He emphasized the undeniable role of North Korea in supporting Russia against Ukraine, noting the significant impact of this second state joining Russia in the war against Ukraine.

Following Zelenskyy’s remarks, Russia mentioned that it was premature to make detailed comments but emphasized Ukraine’s need to “face the facts.” Russia staunchly opposes Ukraine’s NATO membership, claiming that the US is using Ukraine against Russia. The Kremlin spokesperson suggested that the US is fully supporting Ukraine in its stance against Russia and highlighted the US’s significant military aid to Ukraine in combating Russia, indicating that the decision on how to confront Russia lies with the Ukrainian leadership.
