According to Central Bank data, the total credit debt obtained by the private sector from abroad exceeded 175 billion dollars by August, with an increase of 11.2 billion dollars compared to the end of 2023. This increase was driven by a 8.6 billion dollar rise in long-term borrowing and a 2.6 billion dollar increase in short-term borrowing. The long-term credit debts consisted of 57.6% in US dollars, 35.2% in Euro, 2.5% in Turkish lira, and 4.7% in other currencies.
