Protests against Netanyahu and his government are ongoing. A large crowd gathered in Tel Aviv once again called for his resignation. A highway was closed. Police intervened in the demonstration. On the other hand, United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin held a phone conversation with his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant.
While Israel’s attacks in Gaza and Lebanon continue, thousands of people were once again in the streets of Tel Aviv. The focal point of the protests was the Defense Ministry building in Tel Aviv. Protesters carried banners, posters, and placards against Prime Minister Netanyahu and the government. They called on the Israeli government to bring the hostages home and chanted slogans demanding resignations.
A group also closed down Tel Aviv’s largest highway, burning tires, which led to police intervention. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts in the Middle East are ongoing. United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant discussed the tension in the region during their phone call.
One of the main agenda items was the attacks by the Israeli Army on the UN Peacekeeping Force in Lebanon. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin also called for the security of the Lebanese Armed Forces. Austin expressed deep concerns about the attacks by Israeli forces on the UN Peacekeeping Force.
Israel has been facing criticism from many countries for its attacks on the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Lebanon for days.
