The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oncu Keceli, noted that the United States (USA) extending the national emergency status in Syria for another year does not align with the realities on the ground.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oncu Keceli, made a written statement regarding the extension of Presidential Decree No. 13894 by the USA for another year.

Keceli evaluated the extension of Presidential Decree No. 13894, first issued by the USA in 2019 in the context of developments in Syria, as not aligning with the realities on the ground. He stated: “Supporting Turkey’s policies that prioritize the territorial integrity and political unity of Syria, instead of such biased decisions, will contribute to regional stability.”
