A joint statement was issued by 34 countries, including Turkey, that contribute to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), condemning Israel’s attacks on UNIFIL.

Led by the Permanent Mission of Poland to the UN, the statement called for the protection of UNIFIL. Emphasizing the strong support of the 34 signatory countries to the UNIFIL mission, the statement stated, “We condemn the recent events. We call for respect for the UNIFIL mission and ensuring the safety of its personnel.” The importance of the role of UNIFIL was highlighted in the statement, especially at a time when tensions are rising in the region, and it demanded an immediate halt to Israel’s attacks and an investigation into those responsible.
