Deputy Minister of Trade Mahmut Gürcan stated that the verified ad application will be mandatory at the beginning of the year, saying, “People who will advertise their houses will choose their properties via e-Government without entering the e-advertisement site, then by entering the contact numbers of the real estate agents on the window that opens, they will give them the authorization. We are starting this system in the same way for cars.”
Deputy Minister of Trade Mahmut Gürcan said that he strives to attend MÜSİAD’s events whenever he gets the chance, speaking at the Turkey’s Century in Automotive and Energy Vision Meeting organized by MÜSİAD at the Selçuklu Congress Center. Reminding that there has been a significant global recession worldwide with the pandemic, Gürcan said, “Unfortunately, Turkey also had its share of this. Nevertheless, despite the slowdown in global trade, our economy continues to take rapid steps towards production, job creation, and increasing exports. Looking at it, Turkey has maintained its uninterrupted growth for the past 16 quarters. In the past 2023, it achieved a growth of 5.1%.” Gürcan recalled that the automotive industry export, which plays a leading role in exports, reached 19.4 billion dollars in 2023, adding, “Our total exports, including the sub-industry, have exceeded 35 billion dollars. The automotive sector realized an export of 26.9 billion dollars with a growth of 5.3% in the January-September period of 2024. This is a historic record.”
MANDATORY IMPLEMENTATION IN JANUARY
Emphasizing the obligation of identity and authorization verification on advertising platforms, Gürcan recorded the following: “In other words, we ensured that the ads entered on the advertisement site are given by individuals whose ID numbers have been verified and also by companies with authorization certificates. It entered into force for housing recently. It will be fully operational at the beginning of the year. Currently, it continues in a hybrid mode. People who will advertise their homes will choose their properties via e-Government without entering the e-advertisement site, then by entering the contact numbers of the real estate agents on the window that opens, they will give them the authorization. We are starting this system in the same way for cars. We have a project related to advertising your vehicle through e-Government. It’s almost finished, and it will come into force in the coming months.” Gürcan added that efforts will continue to create a fair, competitive, and stable market structure in the automotive sector.
