The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to update the list of companies engaged in food counterfeiting. The list published on the ministry’s website reintroduced companies that added foreign substances to their products. Turkey sausages and meatballs contain poultry meat, Adana kebabs contain heart, molasses have pharmaceutical active substances, and instead of olive oil, seed oils were found, but the most recent revelation is about the tomato paste. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has updated the list of counterfeit and adulterated foods that could endanger public health. The list of companies jeopardizing public health has been shared with the public on the ministry’s website. Brands operating in different regions have been found to add food coloring in tomato paste and teabags. Yesterday’s list highlighted the olive oils. It was discovered that seed oils are usually mixed with olive oil. It is striking that the deceitful companies use labels like “real” and “authentic.” Here are the newly added products to the list of counterfeit and adulterated foods that could endanger health, as well as brands and products from previous days. Counterfeit, adulterated, and fake foods will be available on the guvenilirgida.tarimorman.gov.tr website. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ibrahim Yumaklı, announced the implementation of a new tracking system for reliable food from today onwards, stating that violators will be announced. Yumaklı also mentioned that fake product announcements will now be issued faster, as in the past, such announcements were made at irregular intervals and in bulk. Under the new system, public announcements will be shared instantly with consumers in an electronic format. Some of the products announced by the ministry contained alcohol. Additionally, a new regulation was published in the Official Gazette yesterday regarding the use of materials for service purposes in establishments, restricting their use to purposes other than the serving and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
